Visit by SIT students

post_poseta_sita_04_03_2015On Tuesday, 3rd March 2015, a group of students at the School for International Training (SIT) paid a visit to the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC). The students, who attend various universities in the United States, will spend 15 weeks in Serbia under the SIT’s Peace Studies Program at the Center for Comparative Conflict Studies of the Faculty of Media and Communications.

The HLC’s Marijana Toma, Deputy Executive Director and Education Program Coordinator, introduced the visitors to the efforts made so far to implement transitional justice measures in Serbia, and to the HLC’s contribution to the process of dealing with the past and reconciliation in the region. The visiting students were interested to learn about the processing of those responsible for past crimes, and especially about the challenges victims face when claiming reparations.
